What will your child learn?

The 8 learning journeys

Our 8 learning journeys cover essential skills children need at school, with friends and in everyday life.

8 learning journeys. One connected STEP program.

These are not eight separate classes. Children practise skills from different journeys through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

  • Communication & Public Speaking: Share ideas clearly, explain thoughts, ask questions and speak with growing confidence in conversations and small audiences.
  • Emotional Intelligence & Social Skills: Understand feelings and perspectives; express needs respectfully; cooperate, set boundaries and repair conflicts.
  • Listening, Focus & Memory: Notice important information; organise and recall it; follow and contribute to meaningful shared tasks.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ask useful questions; weigh evidence and options; explain choices and solve challenges with others.
  • Confidence & Personality Development: Recognise strengths; make age-appropriate choices; initiate, ask for help and take responsibility.
  • Creativity, Design & Innovation: Imagine alternatives; communicate designs; create, test and improve things with others.
  • Digital Literacy & Online Safety: Evaluate information; ask questions and communicate boundaries; participate responsibly in digital situations.
  • Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy: Notice needs and value; explain choices; collaborate, create and make thoughtful money decisions.

The right challenge at the right age.

Learning that grows with your child

Nurche adapts activities, challenges and teacher support to each child’s developmental stage.

How learning progresses

Children revisit important skills regularly through new activities and increasing levels of challenge. They begin with guidance, gain confidence through practice and gradually learn to apply skills more independently.

  • Ages 3–4 · Explore & Express: Play, movement, simple choices, listening and sharing ideas through words, gestures and actions.
  • Ages 5–6 · Connect & Communicate: Explain choices, follow instructions, solve simple problems and interact with others.
  • Ages 7–8 · Think & Collaborate: Ask deeper questions, explain reasoning, consider different viewpoints and work together.
  • Ages 9–12 · Reason & Take Initiative: Solve more complex challenges, make thoughtful decisions, collaborate and explore real-world situations.

Progress you can notice.

How do we know your child is learning?

Life skills are not measured only through tests or right answers. Nurche teachers observe how children think, express and participate.

Teachers also observe the guidance each child needs and how they approach new challenges over time. Every child progresses differently. We focus on growth, not comparison.

  • Think: Make choices, explain reasoning and solve problems.
  • Express: Share thoughts, feelings and ideas with growing clarity.
  • Participate: Listen, respond, cooperate and contribute to activities.

Common parent questions

For parents

Is Nurche a school or tuition program?

No. Nurche complements regular education by giving children dedicated opportunities to practise important life skills through interactive activities.

Does my child need to know English well?

Children should be able to follow age-appropriate classroom instructions with support. Teachers use simple language, demonstrations and guided activities. Nurche is not an English-language tuition program.

What if my child is shy or hesitant?

That’s okay. Children can begin with small responses, simple choices or gestures. Teachers support participation at each child’s pace.

Does every child follow the same curriculum?

Children work toward the same broad life skills, but activities, difficulty and teacher support are adapted to their age and readiness.
