Communication & Public Speaking
Ages 5–12. Help your child put thoughts into words, tell stories and feel more comfortable sharing ideas with others. 48 live online classes · Teacher-led · Small groups of up to 5.
About this program
Speaking up is easier when a child has practised it somewhere safe. In this program children practise telling stories, explaining how something works, having a conversation, asking questions and sharing ideas with a group. Over 48 live classes they build from short, simple sharing to clearer stories and longer talks, at a pace that suits their age. The focus is on being understood, not on perfect speeches. These skills help at school when answering a teacher, with friends when telling what happened, and at home when explaining what they need. It is not an English tuition class: the focus is how children communicate, not grammar or vocabulary lessons.
What children practise
- Tell a story clearly
- Explain an idea
- Ask questions
- Listen and reply

- Speech Delivery (8 classes): Practise voice clarity, pace, emphasis and delivery choices separately from planning a full speech.

What happens in a class?
These three steps guide every class. Classes do not follow an identical script or timing.
- Hear a challenge. The teacher introduces a story, game, question or everyday situation to explore.
- Have a go. Children actively take part: thinking, choosing, speaking, drawing, building, asking questions or solving problems.
- Try and improve. The teacher adds a new detail, challenge or point of view. Children use feedback, rethink their ideas and try another approach.
Example activity
The situation: The teacher gives the group a picture of a dog standing at a closed gate.
What children do: Each child tells a short story about what happens next, with a beginning, a middle and an ending.
How they work together: Children listen to each other, then ask one question about a story they just heard.
What changes: The teacher adds a surprise: the gate opens by itself. Children change their story to include it.
Skill practised: Telling a story in order so a listener can follow it.
Where it helps: Telling a parent or a teacher what happened, in an order they can follow.
How learning connects to everyday life
A real-life moment: Your child comes home and you ask what happened at school.
Using the skill: They can tell what happened first, what came next and how it ended, so you can follow the story.
A question to ask at home: “What happened first, next and last?”
Progress through practice
Over the 48 classes, children keep coming back to the same skills in new situations.
- Explore new situations.
- Practise important skills again and again.
- Meet different challenges.
- Try again with feedback.
- Build independence through practice.
- Discover where those skills can help in real life.
